Split into small groups (3-4).
Scenario Draw: There four presentation scenarios: product demo, sales meeting, training session, and promotion/marketing. Each group will be assigned one scenario using a random method (drawing chits, spinning a wheel).
Target Audience: Spends 5 minutes brainstorming your target audience for your assigned scenario. You should consider factors like age, technical knowledge, and decision-making power. Each group will share their target audience with the class and get feedback.
Sticky Note Planning: Each group will get a set of sticky notes in different colours. Brainstorm the key points you want to deliver in your presentations. Use different colour notes for different elements like:
Yellow: Key features and benefits (product demo, promotion)
Blue: Challenges and solutions (sales meeting, training)
Green: Steps or instructions (training)
Pink: Call to action (all scenarios)
Slide Structure: Arrange their sticky notes on a whiteboard or wall to create a basic structure for your presentations. Consider the flow of information and how visuals can enhance your message.
Software Time: You will be given 20 minutes to build your presentations using your chosen software. Remember to incorporate visuals (images, videos, graphs) relevant to your scenario and target audience.
Presentation Smackdown: Groups are to present their tailored presentation for their assigned scenario. Remember to use clear and concise language, strong visuals, and engaging delivery.
Class Critique: After each presentation, those in class are to provide constructive feedback using the following prompts:
Did the presentation effectively target the audience?
Were the key points clear and engaging?
Did the visuals support the message?
Was the call to action strong?
