modification or denial of a computer, information system or data:
• the CIA triad – confidentiality, integrity and availability applied to develop security
• identification, authentication, authorisation and accountability (IAAA) – applied to prevent
unauthorised access by implementing security policies to secure a network further:
o applying directory services
o security authentication process
o using passwords and security implications
o identification and protection of data
o maintaining an up-to-date information asset register
