• VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol)
• SIP (Session Initiation Protocol).
2.3.2 Understand the relationship between VOIP and SIP.
2.3.3 Know definitions of each network metric:
• speed
• bandwidth
• latency
• jitter
• packet loss.
2.3.4 Know and understand the relationships between the network metrics and their impact on user experience when communicating on a network.
2.3.5 Know and understand the purpose of codecs:
• compressing data
• uncompressing data.
2.3.6 Know the different types of codecs, their purpose and the types of algorithm they use:
• MPEG-4 (video, lossy/lossless)
• MP3 (audio, lossy)
• FLAC (audio, lossless)
