Week 24

In this week's content we will investigate how the same esports incident can be described differently depending on who is speaking. You will be required to distinguish shared facts from interpretation and create a convincing voice for a particular role.

Steps to complete:

1. Complete the student-led viewpoint switch and notice how wording changes when the speaker changes.

2. Analyse the sample first-person passages for vocabulary, detail, certainty and attitude.

3. Read the fictional tournament incident and identify facts that all roles should agree on.

4. Use your assigned role card - player, coach, caster or organiser - to write an account of the incident.

5. Compare accounts and highlight where interpretations differ.

6. Write a 250-word first-person monologue that keeps the chosen voice consistent.

7. Annotate three language choices that reveal the speaker's role or attitude.

By the end you will have a role-based incident account and a developed monologue.
