Week 31
In this week's content we will be looking at selecting it systems from client requirements through a realistic Level 3 IT context. You will be required to act as an IT consultant for a small arts centre, compare three realistic options and recommend the best fit using evidence.
Steps to complete:
1. Complete the learner-led technology-options ranking task and agree useful decision criteria.
2. Read the Harbour View Arts Centre brief and identify explicit, implicit and conflicting requirements.
3. Score three technology options against cost, performance, manageability, accessibility and future needs.
4. Write a 400-word recommendation using evidence, trade-offs and a justified conclusion.
5. Swap reports and challenge one assumption or unsupported claim.
6. Revise the report so costs, terminology and recommendations are precise.
By the end of the session you should have a requirements matrix and evidence-based IT systems recommendation.
