Week 23

In this week's content we will write a narrative about a player under pressure. You will be required to reveal character through action, dialogue and thought, and build the story around a meaningful decision rather than only around gameplay.

Steps to complete:

1. Join the student-led narrative-choice activity.

2. Read the model extract and identify what you infer about the character from behaviour, speech and thoughts.

3. Plan four key elements: goal, obstacle, decision and consequence.

4. Decide whether your story takes place before, during or after an esports event.

5. Write 500-650 words with a clear narrative arc and controlled focus.

6. Edit dialogue punctuation, subtext and the balance between speech and action.

7. Ask a partner to identify the character's main conflict and check that it is clear.

By the end you will have a complete, edited narrative.
