Week 30

In this week's content we will practise the skills needed for AQA English Language Paper 1 using an esports-related fiction context. You will be required to complete reading questions, improve an answer and produce a timed creative-writing response.

Steps to complete:

1. Use the student-led AO recap to remind yourself what AO1, AO2 and AO4 require.

2. Read the fiction extract carefully and complete the retrieval, language/structure and evaluation tasks.

3. Compare selected responses with the success criteria.

4. Rewrite one answer to make it more precise or better supported.

5. Plan a response to the linked creative prompt.

6. Write a focused descriptive or narrative piece under timed conditions.

7. Spend the final ten minutes checking vocabulary, sentences, spelling and punctuation for AO6.

By the end you will have a completed mini Paper 1 practice and one improved reading answer.
