Week 9

In this week's content we will examine toxicity, moderation and constructive communication in online esports spaces. You will be required to identify harmful or unhelpful language and replace it with language that is firm, respectful and appropriate.

Steps to complete:

1. Classify the fictional chat messages and rewrite the unacceptable examples.

2. Read the conduct or moderation text and identify its viewpoint, evidence and persuasive methods.

3. Work through the scenario cards involving disagreement, harassment, exclusion or unsporting behaviour.

4. Decide on a proportionate response and explain why it is suitable.

5. Write a 250-word code of conduct for an esports community.

6. Create three short campaign messages aimed at different audiences.

7. Proofread for clarity, inclusivity and tone.

By the end you will have a usable code of conduct and a mini digital-citizenship campaign.
